Golfer Tiger Woods was certainly hoping for more as the conclusion of his first round of the PGA Championship on Thursday in Tulsa, where he delivered a card of 74, four strokes over par.

Consequently, the American found himself in 95th place with several competitors who had not finished their day’s work. However, he had started his journey well by stalling a birdie on his first hole, the 10th of the Southern Hills course. After taking another shot from his record at the 14th pennant, he followed up with bogeys at the 15th and 18th, then with four more on his back nine, including his last two holes.
Playing in the same trio of players as Woods, Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy fared much better than his rival as he held the lead with a 65 (-5) record, one shot ahead of Wil Zalatoris and Tom Hoge, both United States.
Having won the tournament at the same place in 2007, the “Tiger” is playing his second event since his road accident in February 2021. He took part in the Masters Tournament in April, presenting a cumulative of 13.
The competition will continue until Sunday inclusive.
