The National Police, in a joint operation with Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency, has intervened 18,000 counterfeit textile items in two industrial warehouses in the province of Alicante where the material was manufactured and distributed, which was finally sold in different markets. Within the framework of this operation carried out in Alicante, three people have been arrested.

In a parallel investigation carried out in the Catalan town of Lloret de Mar, the National Police seized more than 18,000 counterfeit effects whose market value exceeds half a million euros.

According to the Police, the agents have arrested, in Lloret de Mar, sixteen people for counterfeiting articles of well-known brands, textiles and leather goods, exposed or stored and ready for sale.

The investigation began last March, when several complaints were received from the legal representatives of different prestigious brands.

The two actions are part of the Operative Action 3.4 Fakestar, which fights against the commercialization of counterfeit textile products of recognized brands, which has a European scope and is led by Spain through the National Police, in the multidisciplinary European initiative Empact to fight against organized crime in various fields.
