Firefighters have rescued this Saturday two women injured while hiking in the municipalities of Alcoy and Finestrat (Alicante), as reported by the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium.
In the first of the rescues, a 59-year-old woman suffered a double fracture in her right leg after falling while hiking on the Font Roja elephant path, 100 meters from the road, in Alcoy.
The firefighters received the notice around 11:00 a.m. and, upon reaching the place where the woman was, they treated her with first aid and immobilized her for transfer on a stretcher to the road where the ambulance was waiting.
A headquarters command unit, a heavy urban bomb, a corporal and four firefighters from the Cocentaina park have been mobilized to the scene.
On the other hand, in the second case, firefighters have rescued a 42-year-old woman by air who, after spraining her ankle, has not been able to continue walking and was in an area that is difficult to access by land.
After locating the injured woman in Puig Campana, the path after finishing the climbing wall in the town of Finestrat, the firefighters have transferred her to the Font del Molí helipad, where her own colleagues have picked her up, as it did not require greater urgency no health treatment. For the rescue, a device made up of an Alpha 01 rescue helicopter from the mountain rescue group (GER) has been deployed.
