The Civil Guard is investigating a man and a woman living in Santiago de Compostela for having extorted a user of a dating website, who was swindled out of 2,000 euros and intended to snatch another 3,000 euros.

The investigation, as reported this Friday by the Armed Institute in a statement, began last December, when a neighbor from the Seville town of Mairena de Aljarafe (Seville) told them that, after contacting some girls from a well-known dating website, he began receiving threatening phone calls and messages from a man who said he was harassing his girls.

Through serious threats, he managed to block the victim out of fear and decide to transfer them 2,000 euros in several payments.

After receiving this money, these individuals continued to extort the victim to try to extort another 3,000 euros, warning him that if he did not do so, they would kidnap him or order him killed.

With the data provided by the complainant, the agents of the Civil Guard of Mairena del Aljarafe, in collaboration with the Team @ of the Armed Institute of Milladoiro (La Coruña), began an investigation that ended with the identification of the authors: a woman from 29 years old and a 21-year-old man, both based in Santiago.
