The National Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in Valencia as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of threats after yelling at the residents of a Marítim building that he was going to set it on fire with them inside. The agents located him on the sixth floor, with a can of gasoline and a lighter in his hands, surrounded by a puddle of fuel, as reported by the Headquarters in a statement.
The events occurred around 11:30 p.m. when the police officers were commissioned by Room 091 to go to a building in the Valencian district of Marítim, where a man was apparently threatening the neighbors with setting fire to the houses.
The policemen perceived a strong smell of gasoline and on the sixth floor of the building, they located a man lying in a puddle of fuel, with a lighter and an open can of gasoline in his hands.
Seeing the policemen, he yelled at them that if they approached, he would set everyone on fire, ignoring their instructions. Finally, the agents managed to subdue the suspect and found out that moments before he had hit the doors of the landing at the same time that he was shouting that they open or set fire to the building.
For all these reasons, the police arrested the man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of threats and seized both the drum and five lighters that were found on him. The arrested person, with a police record, has been taken to court.
