Agents of the National Police have arrested sixteen young people between the ages of 14 and 21 in Valencia, twelve of them minors, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of damage after denting, scratching and breaking the mirrors and fenders of some twenty vehicles and overturning and set containers on fire. In total, fifteen cars and two motorcycles have been affected. The amount of damage to some of the cars amounts to more than 1,300 euros.
The events occurred around 3:30 a.m. this Saturday, when the police were commissioned by the 091 Chamber to go to Guillem de Castro Avenue, where apparently a large group of young people were causing damage to the vehicles that were parked and overturning containers, the National Police reported in a statement.
The agents have gone to the place, where they have located several damaged vehicles, as well as overturned containers, so they proceeded to put them back in their place to be able to pass their vehicle. The police officers followed the directions of several people who had seen a large group of young people pass by on Quart Street, Azcárraga Street and Pérez Galdós Avenue.
Finally, among various indications of the National Police, the agents have located and arrested sixteen young people, twelve of them minors, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of damage.
Up to fifteen passenger cars and two mopeds have been affected by the events, some of them with dented roofs, fractured mirrors, scratched doors and damaged starter cylinders and gas caps.
Many of the passenger cars also had footprints on the roof and hood. In total, the amount of damage to some of the cars amounts to more than 1,300 euros. Likewise, those arrested would have overturned several containers and set fire to two of them.
The detainees have been released after hearing a statement, after being warned of the obligation to appear before the judicial authority. The minors have been handed over to their legal guardians, and the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office has been informed of this.
