The Ministry of Universal Health and Public Health has notified a total of 5,896 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR test or through antigen tests since the last update in the Valencian Community.
According to the latest epidemiological report, the new cases by province are: 741 in Castellón (174,760 in total), 1,858 in Alicante (489,748 in total) and 3,297 in Valencia (762,131 in total).
Of these, 2,374 are from people over sixty years of age. By provinces, the distribution is as follows: 349 from Castellón, 780 from Alicante and 1,245 from Valencia.
Regarding healthcare pressure, Valencian hospitals currently have 760 people admitted with Covid-19, 45 of them in the ICU: 113 in the province of Castellón, 5 in the ICU; 247 in the province of Alicante, 16 of them in the ICU; and 400 in the province of Valencia, 24 in the ICU.
Likewise, 19 deaths from coronavirus have been reported since the last update, 16 of them belonging to the last seven days; April 2 and February 1. They are eight women, between 67 and 98 years old, and eleven men between 68 and 97 years old. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic amounts to 9,378: 1,097 in the province of Castellón, 3,561 in Alicante and 4,720 in Valencia.
The incidence rate in people over sixty years of age has decreased this Friday by 20.07 points to stand at 702.11 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Valencian Community, below the national average of 848.62 cases, according to the update of the Ministry of Health.
