The summer cinema will return this year after the years of the pandemic and the intention of the Toledo City Council is to start it “as soon as possible” in the Parque de las Tres Culturas. This has been stated by the Councilor for Culture, Teo García, who has stressed that his goal is for the award to be resolved before June 15.

Teo García, who has appeared to present the annual summary corresponding to 20231 in terms of the number of spectators at the Teatro de Rojas, has stated that his department is already working and “we are willing to authorize summer cinema again because there are already proposals to start it,” he stressed.

The Councilor for Culture explained that before its launch the objective is to comply with the regulations regarding noise levels and the noise pollution ordinance will be complied with.

In this sense, he has pointed out that the screenings in the Parque de las Tres Culturas Auditorium will begin at 10:00 p.m. and should not exceed 2:30 a.m., so none of the scheduled films should end later than 0:30 a.m.

Similarly, the councilor has recalled that the summer cinema has been part of the city’s cultural programming for 18 years, when José Santander and his family launched it.

This space has been open since the summer of 2004, recovering an old tradition that had been lost since it disappeared, due to the works of the Palacio de Congresos, the Miradero. Thanks to this cinema in Parque de las Tres Culturas, many Toledans continue to remember with nostalgia those summers of cinema and sandwiches in the dismantled Weapons Factory.
