Aqualia, the water company in which FCC has a 51% stake, has received three awards at the 2022 World Water Awards, known as the ‘Water Oscars’, including second place in the ranking of the best companies in the sector around the world.

In addition, Aqualia has been selected among the four finalists in the ‘Net Zero Carbon Champion’ category, while its head of the Eco-efficiency area, Víctor Monsalvo, has been recognized with the ‘Distinction Water Tech Idol’.

Monsalvo has received this distinction for its presentation of the MIDES project, a water desalination system at no energy cost, as reported by the company specializing in water infrastructure in a statement.

The first prize in companies went to Manila Water, a company that operates in the capital of the Philippine Islands, thus being recognized as the best company in this sector in the world.
