The Diputación de Toledo, chaired by Álvaro Gutiérrez, continues to show its most supportive aspect with those who need it most and for this reason it has approved the granting of aid to four entities that carry out their work to support groups of people with disabilities in the province of Toledo during this year 2022 and that add up to a total of 34,000 euros.

Thus, grants have been approved for the Association of Relatives of Patients with Alzheimer’s and other dementias ‘New Life’, in Fuensalida; the Neurorhbta Association; the Toledo Association for Children with Special Educational Disabilities (Afannes), and the Toledo Provincial Federation of Entities for People with Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy (Marsodeto).

In the case of the ‘Nueva vida’ Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s patients and other dementias, in Fuensalida, support will be given to the project ‘Music therapy for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias’, focused on the use of music and its elements to promote and facilitate communication, relationships, learning, movement and expression, to motivate the physical, emotional, cultural, mental, social and cognitive needs of the person who participates in the activity.

The Toledo Provincial Council shares the principles and benefits that music brings to the sensory system to stimulate creativity, thought, language, learning and memory, as necessary elements for socialization, and wants to contribute to improving the quality of life of the person suffering from Alzheimer’s or other dementia and their families.

The Provincial Executive has also approved the aid for the Neurorhbta Association project for the development of the project ‘Intensive therapies in neurological damage and post covid’, aimed at people who have been affected by Covid-19, with neurological and physical sequelae, and patients who have suffered Sudden Brain Injury (SCI).

The Provincial Government has valued the innovativeness of a new project, based on intensive therapies and the use of new technologies and virtual reality that has not yet been applied to any field or area of intervention in Talavera de la Reina or in the region, that covers different areas of rehabilitation such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy and psychology.

With regard to the Association in favor of children with special needs in Toledo (AFANNES), support is given to the implementation of the project ‘Personal development for people with intellectual disabilities’ and ‘Capacita’.

The first of these projects aims to reinforce the actions that the educational centers carry out with the people of the association, to improve their academic performance by facilitating support at the curricular level for carrying out the tasks that the educational center indicates to them.

The ‘Capacita’ project, for its part, arises to respond to the support needs and the right to social and labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.

And this package of aid approved by the Government of the Diputación also grants a subsidy to the Provincial Federation of entities for people with intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy in Toledo (Marsodeto), for the development of the project “provincial office of information and accompaniment for the promotion of personal autonomy.

It is about enabling a service space that serves as a support point towards a consolidation of resources for the design of inclusive activities, facilitating training and providing services of any kind to companies, whether public or private, sports clubs, cultural groups, religious organizations, youth entities, welfare associations, groups, neighborhoods, etc.
