The president of the Popular Party of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, has lamented that the 2021-2022 school year has been characterized by “the organizational disaster and the chaos in the educational centers, caused by the lurching of a Ministry of Education, of the Board and the PSOE determined to demonstrate that they are far from the reality of the centers and that they have abandoned teachers to their fate.
This has been said after the constitution of the Education Commission, of the PP whose president is Daniel García and has Verónica López as a member of it, both teachers.
Velázquez explained that the course began marked by COVID, and despite the fact that the Board “already knew it, it caused hundreds of dismissals because the regional president, Emiliano García-Page, did not fulfill his promise to maintain the splits.”
As if that were not enough, Velázquez added, “it has been the teachers themselves who have paid for protection measures such as FFP2 masks out of their pockets and what Page and the PSOE do not count is that there have been thousands of casualties due to Covid that they have not been replaced, thousands of teachers who have been absent due to sick leave and have not been replaced».
For the provincial president of the PP, “the disaster has also been noted in the vaccinations of the teachers, who have not been replaced when they were going to get the vaccine, and that has affected thousands of people. This highlights and is just one example of the deterioration in the quality of education in our community », he detailed.
Velázquez has referred to “another disaster that has meant that during this course 25 schools have been forced to abandon the bilingualism program due to the abandonment to which they have been subjected by the Community Board, a new example of the deterioration in the quality of education”, he said.
For his part, Daniel García has referred to the consequences that the new Education Law that is going to be implemented next year is going to have, “and that it is an attack on the culture of effort and educational freedom.” He has criticized the fact that teachings such as the rule of three or dictations are going to disappear in Primary, «basic contents that have been eliminated, but nevertheless in mathematics a socio-effective content is going to be included, we wonder if a student who does not know how to divide but know how to give a hug will pass ».
In addition, in natural and social, the region is going to lose 33 percent of the study load in these areas, which go from 4.5 hours to 3, “and what the law does is not encourage effort, if The title of ESO and Baccalaureate with failed subjects is going to be given away, ”Garcia has concluded.
