The president of the Popular Party of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, defended this Tuesday the original layout of the new A-40 motorway, between Yepes and Villasequilla, “an infrastructure that the Ocaña region has needed for many years and in an area that needs In addition, an important boost to consolidate new activities that can generate employment and fight against the problem of depopulation”.
This was stated in a visit to the Congress of Deputies, where he met with the national deputies of the PP, Vicente Tirado and Carmen Riolobos, together with several mayors of the Ocaña region, to discuss the actions that have been taken to the national parliament in this regard and propose new initiatives in this regard.
“Today we defend here the original route already approved in 2010 and that has a positive environmental impact statement, something that the new misleading alternatives of the PSOE Government do not have,” warned the popular leader, who highlighted that “the alternative of 2010 is the one demanded by the residents of this region».
In this sense, he clarified that, in addition, this alternative defended by the PP “supposes the decongestion of traffic and the reduction of dangerousness of the current N-400 road, in which we have had to regret serious accidents in recent months.”
“It is the best option and it is also the hope for a better future in an area that has been abandoned by the different governments of the PSOE, both by the Community Board and by the Government of Pedro Sánchez”, has explained Velázquez, who has remarked that “we cannot waste any more time, we must start up and put out to tender the execution of the original route of the A-40 between Yepes and Villasequilla”.
