The brutal attack on a minor in Igualada (Barcelona) took place in the early hours of November 1. It was a truck driver who found her unconscious, badly injured and naked in a vacant lot in the Les Comes industrial estate. It was 10 days later when the victim woke up at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, not knowing where she was or what had happened. This was reported this Tuesday in his statement before the head of the Municipal Court of Instruction 4.
As her lawyer, Jorge Albertini, has detailed to ABC, the minor “does not remember anything about the rape.” The only question he has asked her has been the one related to the sequels that she suffers. “I can’t sleep, I have constant headaches, and sudden mood swings,” she explained from another court, where the preconstituted test was carried out.
That is to say, with this statement he will no longer have to explain himself again during the trial, to avoid the so-called re-victimization.
The minor underwent five surgeries for the brutal attack. She lost a large part of her left ear -which she now recovers little by little thanks to treatment, the lawyer specifies- and they also had an ileostomy -an opening in the abdominal wall- to remove a part of the small intestine. Her attacker attacked her with an iron bar.
After the arrest and subsequent entry into prison of the suspect, Brian Raimundo M.B., the young woman, he explained, went back out into the street. Until then, she remained locked in her house, in a panic. Despite the fact that he is prosecuted, not only for sexual assault, but also for attempted murder, the 21-year-old individual has remained “undaunted” when listening to the story of the 16-year-old victim.
“He has shown no sign of repentance or remorse,” Albertini said. For its part, the defense of Brian Raimundo has posed a single question to the minor: with whom he left the Épic nightclub in Igualada the night of the attack. She this one has pointed out that with a friend.
It should be remembered that the investigation of the Mossos d’Esquadra, who arrested the alleged rapist at the end of April, allows him to be located at the scene of the events, and that is that several security cameras in the area captured how the man followed the victim by the polygon This clue is joined by a more relevant one: the victim’s DNA on the jacket that the suspect was wearing the night of the attack.
