A 32-year-old man has been injured by burns caused by a fire in the room of a hospital center for terminally ill and psychiatric patients in Arévalo (Ávila). This has motivated the transfer of him in the medicalized helicopter from Sacyl to Valladolid.

The operating room of the 1-1-2 Castilla y León Emergency Center received a call at around 3:15 p.m. announcing a fire declared in a room of a hospital center for terminally ill and psychiatric patients located on Paseo de San Juan Bosco de Arévalo, where in addition to the intervention of the Fire Department, assistance was required for a resident who had been injured with several burns.

On 1-1-2 he notified the Civil Guard (COS) of Ávila, the Ávila Firefighters and also, due to their proximity, those of the Valladolid Provincial Council -which mobilized the Medina del Campo park- and the emergency coordination center (CCU) of Sanitary Emergencies – Sacyl, which sent a medical helicopter, a basic life support ambulance and Primary Care health personnel from the Arévalo health center.

At the scene, Sacyl health personnel have treated the injured person, a 32-year-old man, who was later transferred by medical helicopter to the Río Hortega University Hospital in Valladolid.
