As a travel photographer, I have developed an unfailing patience to wait for the right light. I also improved the ability to take advantage of every situation, regardless of the weather conditions. My stay on the island of Madeira proved to be a headache in this sense. Can’t schedule anything longer than an hour. So it’s better to let go. So I established a plan according to the priority photos and the type of weather desired to take them. For example, to capture the unique atmosphere of the fabulous forest of Fanal, known for its twisted laurels, a veil of fog was essential. This subtropical forest is located more than 1000 meters above sea level. In other words, in the clouds. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, it is the surviving remains of a type of forest once widespread in southern Europe. Only a few islands, including Madeira, are covered with it. These humid forest areas are home to laurels in the heart of lush vegetation that completely covers deep valleys. Traveling through such a plant ecosystem under the mist represents a journey through time, but above all an unparalleled visual experience.
