Regular beds occupied by COVID patients should also experience a drop with an average of 1,068 beds, therefore falling between levels 2 and 3 defined by the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS).
Intensive care should also free up with a total of 35 beds expected in two weeks, or 20% of level 1 beds defined by the MSSS.
For the week of April 30 to May 6, the number of new hospitalized cases decreased by 26% compared to the previous week. About 48% of cases are people who are hospitalized for a reason other than COVID, then declared positive during their stay.
