The Boston Celtics squandered a 14-point fourth quarter lead before finally going down 110-107 against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday at TD Garden.
The Bucks, led by an in-form Giannis Antetokounmpo, lead the series 3-2 and will have the chance to send their rivals on vacation on Friday.
Game of the match was achieved by Jrue Holiday, who delivered a critically important block at the expense of Marcus Smart with just a handful of seconds left in the encounter.
Holiday was effective with 24 points, eight rebounds and as many assists. The “Greak Freek” (40 points, 11 rebounds) and surprising Bobby Portis (14 points, 15 rebounds) also looked good for the defending NBA champions.
Crowd favorites were dragged down by their weak downtown performance (32.3%).
Jayson Tatum (34 points, six rebounds) and Jaylen Brown (26 points, eight rebounds) went out of their way to demystify Mike Budenholzer’s defensive strategies.
