The Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Carriedo, highlighted this Monday in Ávila that in the first half of 2022 the Board has promoted the sale of 246,914 square meters of industrial land in Castilla y León, of which a quarter, 60,560 square meters square, have been sold in the province of Ávila.
Fernández Carriedo, who attended a meeting with businessmen from Avila at the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Ávila to present the support measures offered by the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICE) with the aim of promoting economic recovery after the impact of the Covid pandemic, he assured that “there has continued to be momentum and activity despite all the difficulties”.
In that sense, he recalled that together with the “previous circumstances of recession linked to the pandemic, last year the increase in prices and the rise in inflation in very important values were added.” And, in addition, he added, “we were witnessing a stock break, and having some raw materials available” and in recent times “the risks derived from the withdrawal of stimuli and the rise in interest rates” have joined. Despite these adverse circumstances, he stressed that these figures for the sale of business land are “important and show us that businessmen want to continue investing.” And he highlighted that the monthly average in Castilla y León as a whole is “67 percent higher than what we were selling just before the pandemic in 2019.”
In his speech before the businessmen, Fernández Carriedo presented these support measures that are included in four large blocks: guaranteed loan operations; extraordinary support for the business fabric in the face of the crisis derived from the pandemic; capitalization programs; and direct aid to companies. All these Financial Platform help lines are permanently open.
Fernández Carriedo also referred to the repercussions that the elimination of the Donation Tax has had in May 2021, with the aim of establishing a favorable tax system among direct family members and avoiding taxing assets that have already been taxed previously. In Castilla y León as a whole, the counselor pointed out, this measure has benefited 19,856 Castilians and Leonese, which has meant a tax saving of 153.4 million euros between May 9, 2021 and April 30, 2022.
