In the fourth round of collective bargaining for around 26,000 employees at the four university hospitals in the southwest, the Verdi union said it achieved a result on Monday evening. The union announced that table increases of up to ten percent had been agreed. They would take effect from October 2023. The term is 19 months. This was a good result, especially for the lower income groups, Verdi announced late in the evening.
In addition, there would be a total of 2,400 euros in one-off payments, which should be paid out net at 1,200 euros each in December 2022 and March 2023, “and thus be able to compensate for the acute burdens on employees due to the threat of additional payments and price increases,” it said.
In the collective bargaining dispute, the Verdi union had demanded significantly higher salaries and around 10.5 percent more money for nursing staff and employees in administration, primarily with reference to the high inflation.
