Pupils in Villeneuve-de-Blaye, a town of 400 people north of Bordeaux, experienced this. One day in May 2014 they wanted to sing in the playground, which wasn’t a good idea because they soon felt nauseous, suffered from headaches and dizziness. The reason? The school was near a vineyard, the vintners had sprayed plant poison, the clouds were drifting over to the school.
