Martin Bauer* (name changed by the editors) wants to create a handful of ski days this winter, that’s his goal. Wed down the slopes, breathe cold air, feel the snow crunch under your skis. Ever since the manager fell ill with a brain tumor, a glioblastoma, this has been his wish in life. The 59-year-old doesn’t need an expensive watch or a trip to the tropics, he has flown enough as the managing director of a large technology company. He prefers to spend time with his family in the mountains. Bauer is a tall, slender man, his temples slowly turning grey. His voice is pleasantly warm, you could listen to him for hours.
