Weak price developments on the overseas stock exchanges did not prevent Dax investors from buying on Thursday. The leading German index gained 0.62 percent to 15,950.54 points on Xetra in the first few minutes. The MDax for medium-sized companies increased by 0.75 percent to 28,237.35 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 gained 1.1 percent.
The focus is on the balance sheet season in Germany, with seven companies reporting from the Dax alone. In the afternoon, the most important economic data of the week will follow with the US consumer prices. They are a signal for the US Federal Reserve in the ongoing rate hike cycle to combat inflation.
