Former Spring Hill Panther Marshall Lipsey Shines in Blinn’s Win

GRAND JUNCTION, Co. (KLTV) – Marshall Lipsey, a former standout player from Spring Hill High School, showcased his talent on the big stage as he played a crucial role in Blinn College’s 21-19 victory over Florence-Darlington in the semifinal round of the NJCAA Juco World Series.

Lipsey, a sophomore outfielder, had an eventful game, going 1 for 5 at the plate. Despite his modest batting average, Lipsey made a significant impact by scoring three runs for his team. He displayed his versatility by reaching base through a walk, a hit, and being hit by a pitch throughout the game.

In the fourth inning, Lipsey’s keen eye at the plate earned him a walk, and he later scored on a timely double by his teammate, DeFury. He continued to contribute in the seventh inning, recording a hit to the right side and capitalizing on an error to advance to third base before scoring on a bunt single by Vernars. Lipsey’s resilience was evident when he was hit by a pitch in the sixth inning and managed to score again on a single by Reaves.

Blinn College’s victory sets up an exciting showdown with Georgia Highlands in the upcoming final game on Friday at 7 p.m. The winner of this clash will secure a spot in the finals of the NJCAA Juco World Series, adding further anticipation to the matchup.
