The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) fined Union Berlin for unsportsmanlike behavior by its supporters. Accordingly, the Köpenicker have to pay 40,000 euros, as the DFB announced on Friday. Of this, up to 13,300 euros can be used by the association for security or violence prevention measures.
During the second half and after the final whistle of the Bundesliga game against Hertha BSC (3-1) on August 6, Union supporters burned at least 37 pyrotechnic objects. In addition, a supporter of the home team ran onto the field immediately after the final whistle, the message said.
