After a bus accident on Christmas Eve in Galicia in the north-west of the country, a seventh person was found dead on Monday. This was reported by the Galician emergency service. The newspaper “La Vanguardia” reported, citing the local authorities, that it was a 52-year-old whose body had been sighted by a helicopter.
The day before, it was initially assumed that there were only eight people in the vehicle. The driver and one passenger could be rescued, six other passengers died when the bus on the way from Vigo to Lugo fell from a bridge around 40 meters in bad weather into the flooded river Lérez.
However, the search was resumed on Monday morning after the son of the only surviving passenger sounded the alarm that his mother was traveling with another family member. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
