Spain plans to reinforce the German air contingent in Estonia between August 22 and September 12, 2022 with four Eurofighter combat aircraft, according to the Ministry of Defense.
This air mission with NATO on the eastern flank would join the one already carried out in Bulgaria for two months with four Eurofighter aircraft and the current one in Lithuania with eight F-18 fighters from April 1 to July 31.
The objective of these missions is to monitor NATO airspace and prevent the frequent incursions of Russian planes from going further. “The deployment of four Eurofighters of the Spanish Armed Forces is planned in Amari, Estonia, in support of the German air detachment in said country and to carry out interoperability activities of German and Spanish Eurofighters,” Defense reported.
