Chancellor Olaf Scholz defended the federal government against conspiracy ideologists during a public discussion. “It’s always a relief to perceive life as a conspiracy, but it’s not always right,” said the SPD politician on Monday evening during a conversation with citizens in Bendorf near Koblenz. “We’re really nice people and we mean well.” A woman from the audience had previously asked whether Scholz planned to forcibly dispossess people. Scholz replied: “Not at all. I think it’s a horror fairy tale that you’ve written firmly in your head.”
Scholz also defended himself against allegations of the corona pandemic. “I accept that there are very different views on the question of corona vaccination,” said the Chancellor. However, the vast majority of people would have been vaccinated. “But I’m very happy and very proud that a great company from Rhineland-Palatinate, from Mainz, invented the vaccine for the world, which was quite effective.”
