Among the works of art seized were several particularly valuable jewelry items, it said. Accordingly, there are 31 individual parts. Among them are the well-known hat ornaments (Heron Stutz) and the breast star of the Polish White Eagle Order from the diamond set. On the other hand, the epaulette with the “Saxon White” that was damaged during the theft and the large breast bow of Queen Amalie Auguste are missing.

“This was preceded by exploratory talks between the defense and the public prosecutor’s office, including the court, about a possible agreement on the procedure and the return of looted items that were still there,” said the police and the public prosecutor’s office. “Everything else must be reserved for the further course of the main hearing”, so no additional information is initially possible.

According to the information, the items seized were already being transferred from Berlin to Dresden under the protection of special police forces. They are to be examined there first forensically and then by specialists from the Dresden State Art Collections for their authenticity and completeness.

During the burglary in the Green Vault in November 2019, culturally and historically valuable jewelery from the 18th century was stolen. Until now there had been no trace of the loot. Since January, six suspects have been on trial before the Dresden Regional Court, and a seventh man is under investigation.
