After a body was found in Kaltenkirchen, Schleswig-Holstein, a 17-year-old is in custody on suspicion of manslaughter. The officers found the male dead near a leisure pool parking lot on Saturday night, the police announced on Monday. After indications of an incident in Uetersen in the Pinneberg district, the Itzehoe criminal police took over the investigation and arrested the underage suspect. The “Bild” newspaper previously reported on the discovery of the body.
On Sunday, at the request of the public prosecutor, the Itzehoe district court issued an arrest warrant against the 17-year-old on strong suspicion of manslaughter. There are indications that the victim’s time of death may have been in the days before the body was found and that the crime could have taken place in Uetersen, a spokeswoman for the Itzehoe police department told the star. The identity of the victim has not yet been clarified. The police did not provide any further information, citing the ongoing investigation and the personal rights of the young suspect.
The investigators are looking for witnesses who made suspicious observations between Tuesday and Saturday in the Uetersen area or in the parking lot at the thermal baths in Kaltenkirchen.
