Alice Schlaak is happy: “And then the sun shone”. For an hour, she and her six-year-old daughter and about a hundred other children, educators and parents danced, sang and listened to what daycare manager Wenke Stadach had to say on the market square in Neubrandenburg. From a staircase in the square, she announced how important it was that the federal program “Language Daycare Centers” had to continue. The program, which brought so much new wind into the upbringing of the little ones, is scheduled to end at the end of the year.
