MADRID, 20 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) has acknowledged that he has noticed “progress” in recent races and hopes that the “improvements” with which they go to the Spanish Grand Prix will offer them “some advantage” over Red Bull, and has assured that he will fight for his first victory of the course.

“It would be a good result to be on another podium in front of the Spanish fans, but we want a little more than that. We want that first win and we will fight for it. Hopefully the improvements will give us some advantage over Red Bull. I feel there is progress in the last few races and we are ready for it”, he declared at a press conference.

In addition, the rider from Madrid thanked the “incredible” reception at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. “Everything is full, 300,000 people are expected throughout the weekend. It is the first time in many years that it is full, the stands were sold out in two hours,” he said.

“There is a lot of excitement in the city, in the Grand Prix, Formula 1 is growing everywhere, including here in Spain,” he said. “They give me a lot of encouragement, they tell me to keep pushing. It’s something that puts you in a good mood and gives you good vibes,” she concluded.
