The 400th anniversary of the discovery of Our Lady of Buglose’s statue was celebrated by the diocese of Aire in 2020 and 2021. There were some health issues. The first pilgrimage took place at Pentecost 1622, from Dax Cathedral to the Notre-Dame de Buglose sanctuary in Saint-Vincent-de-Paul.
To commemorate this 400th anniversary Bishop Nicolas Souchu invites Landais to participate in a march on Monday, June 6 under the theme “Let’s go to The Source.”
The day will take place according to the following program: at 9:30 a.m., mass at Dax Cathedral; at 10:30 a.m., walk to the Cradle of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul; 1 p.m., picnic at the cradle; 2 p.m., walk to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Buglose; at 4 p.m., vespers at the Notre-Dame de Buglose basilica.
The total distance of the walk is approximately 15 km and it will take you on a marked and safe route.
This event will conclude the celebrations of 400 years of Buglose.
