The entertainer and Twitch star Jens “Knossi” Knossalla was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance”. The 36-year-old and his dance partner Isabel Edvardsson (40) were unable to collect enough points on Friday evening, neither with the help of the jury nor with the help of the audience, and thus missed out on entering the semi-finals.

Knossalla, who says he had never danced before taking part in the show, accepted his departure in a good mood. “For me, this was never a competition,” he said at the end of the show. He has found new friends in the past few weeks and begrudge everyone the progress. “To be in the top five here is unbelievable.”

“That wasn’t a quarter-final dance”

Again, two dances were on the program for each couple. The motto of the first round this time was “melodies from film and television”. Knossalla and Edvardsson danced a quick step to the “Jungle Book” song “I Wanna Be Like You” – he dressed as a king in the monkey pen, she dressed as a tiger. However, the couple was not enthusiastic about the jury.

Although Motsi Mabuse benevolently praised Knossalla’s overall development, Joachim Llambi complained: “It wasn’t a quarter-final dance.” The trio dance, a cha-cha-cha together with Kathrin Menzinger as the second professional, was a little better. With 39 jury points after two dances, the couple was still well behind before the audience rating.

Full marks for Boy and Beautx

On the other hand, former gymnast Philipp Boy (35) and Youtuber and actress Julia Beautx (23) received first-class ratings. 60 points each, i.e. full points for both dances, clearly pointed the way to the semi-finals. Juror Llambi made no secret of the fact that he also saw opportunities for both of them: he praised the performance of Julia Beautx and Zsolt Sándor Cseke as a “performance worthy of the final”, Philipp Boy and Patricija Ionel he certified a “round evening”.

Two other couples are still in the running in the semi-finals: Model Anna Ermakowa (22) with dance partner Valentin Lusin and mentalist Timon Krause (28) with professional Ekaterina Leonova. Both had had to tremble before the decision, together with Knossalla, about progressing. For Ermakowa, who was considered a favorite early in the season and always collected high jury points, it was the first time in the dreaded red light cone. In this show she had received full points for a trio rumba with additional professional Massimo Sinató, but the jury was not completely convinced of her jive as Pippi Longstocking.
