“Days ago what was given was over and days ago it became evident that, given the resignation of the Government of the pro-independence and left-wing agenda, and given the lack of response from the State to the democratic resolution of the conflict and the crisis economics, there is an alternative. This is how forceful Carles Riera, deputy of the CUP and third secretary of the Parliamentary Table, has shown in an interview granted this Monday to Ser Cataluña.
Riera considers that the Government led by Pere Aragonès has abandoned the ship of the independence of Catalonia. In addition, he values that ERC and Junts have made “inoperative and blocked the 52% pro-independence” achieved in the Catalan elections.
As for the dialogue table with the Government, he has considered it a useless bet by the ERC.
After these latest decisions of the Government, Riera considers that Pere Aragonès should submit to a motion of confidence, something that he agreed with CUP at the beginning of the legislature. Likewise, he asks the ‘president’ to explain the reason for the change in the program.
Regarding the decree law that the Government will approve on Catalan, he has criticized the fact that the CUP has been separated from the negotiations as well as the educational community, and has accused ERC and Junts of betting on the socialists.
The cupaire defends “a single linguistic project” in all schools in accordance with immersion, with Catalan as the only vehicular language and with all the resources so that there is an adequate learning of Spanish and English.
