The police in Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg are searching for an escaped murderer with a large contingent. According to the information, 43-year-old Aleksandr Perepelenko escaped on Monday afternoon during an execution accompanied by two judicial employees in the city of Germersheim (near Mannheim) and ran into a forest. The police did not give the reason for the prisoner’s exit.
Despite an immediate search – including police dogs and a helicopter – he has not yet been caught. “The ankle bracelet initially worn by the prisoner was found and seized a short time later in the city of Germersheim,” the police and public prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday. Possible places of refuge for the person being sought have been checked.
Now the authorities turned to the public with two photos of the fugitive murderer (see article image above). Aleksandr Perepelenko is 1.85 meters tall and has a strong, athletic build. He is bald. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and gray and red sports shoes.
The police will receive information about the fugitive’s whereabouts on the emergency number 110. The officials warned against taking action on their own.
Perepelenko was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Karlsruhe Regional Court in 2012 for murder, among other things, and most recently served it in the Bruchsal JVA (Karlsruhe district). Together with an accomplice, he strangled a then 44-year-old from Pforzheim with a belt.
