The Executive Chairman of Naturgy, Francisco Reynés, becomes part of the alliance that brings together more than a hundred executives committed to the energy transition and the commitment to the green economy. This is the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders of the World Economic Forum, as reported by the energy company in a statement.
The head of Naturgy has participated in the annual meeting of this alliance within his agenda at the Davos Forum, which is being held this week in the well-known Swiss ski resort.
The Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, created in 2014 to support and promote the Paris Agreement, has as its goal the promotion of actions from all sectors and to involve the administrations, in order to jointly contribute to the economy reaches the goal of net zero emissions in 2050.
Reynés has argued that “it is necessary for companies to become actively involved in the energy transition, together with the institutions and organizations that set the objectives and establish the policies to achieve them”.
Naturgy has done a large part of its homework and last year it approved its current sustainability plan in 2021, which contemplates reaching emission neutrality in 2050 and an installed capacity from renewable sources close to 60% in 2025.
