MADRID, 14 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Renfe registered this Friday 167,110 tickets sold in a single day on its AVE, Long Distance and Medium Distance lines, a figure that marks a new record for travelers since the start of the pandemic, according to data offered by the operator to Europa Press.

The most demanded destinations during the day on Friday were Madrid with Andalusia, Galicia, the Valencian Community and Catalonia.

The company has programmed for this San Isidro bridge an offer of more than 37,700 additional seats on its AVE, Long and Medium Distance trains between yesterday and next Monday, May 16, to travel during the bridge.

The reinforcements of this departure and return operation in Renfe are mainly concentrated on the lines with the greatest demand for Commercial Services (AVE-Long Distance), which are those that connect Madrid with the South Corridor with a total of 13,957 additional seats (between Madrid and Seville, Malaga and Cadiz), Catalonia with 12,024 more seats (especially on the AVE and Avlo Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona-Figueres lines) and the Levantine area with 5,518 additional seats.

Likewise, Galicia is another of the preferred destinations for this bridge due to the celebration of the Galician Letters Day, for which Renfe has made more than 28,500 seats available to travelers on its AVE and Alvia trains that connect Galicia with Madrid to travel between May 13 and 17.

As for Media Distancia trains, for next May 16, a holiday in Madrid, Renfe will increase the offer by 2,200 seats, of which 1,700 belong to Avant trains and 500 to conventional Media Distancia trains.

The company has ultimately highlighted that with the number of passengers who have used the Renfe services on Ave, Larga y Media Distancia, the polluting emissions of more than 100,000 private vehicles have been saved into the atmosphere.
