An exploded vacuum cleaner battery caused a fire in an apartment building in Backnang (Rems-Murr district). According to the first findings of the police, the fire broke out in a basement apartment on Tuesday evening and let dense clouds of smoke penetrate from the house entrance. The fire brigade extinguished the fire and brought the residents to safety. They were handed over to the ambulance. The police estimated the property damage at around 300,000 euros.
