The Red Cross has already assisted 1,608 displaced Ukrainians in Castilla y León since the beginning of the Russian invasion, of which 458 are currently housed in hostels, residences and hotels in the Community.

The largest number of people occupying emergency shelters served by the NGO is made up of women and minors. Not in vain, only 18 percent of those accommodated correspond to men, which shows that they have stayed in their country to fight in the war. On the contrary, 47 percent are women and 34 percent are children and adolescents.

The report, with data between March 15 and May 24, shows that the organization has 682 operational emergency accommodation places, of which 458 are already occupied.

Segovia is the province that receives the most Ukrainian refugees (196), followed by 72 from Zamora, 64 from Salamanca, 59 from Ávila and 49 from Burgos.
