A Eurocity train coming from Munich crashed into a fallen tree in the Czech Republic. Passengers were not injured, said the state railway Ceske Drahy (CD) on Monday evening. The accident occurred at Karlstejn Castle, around 30 kilometers southwest of Prague. The route runs there in difficult-to-access terrain between a steep slope and the Berounka River. As the newspaper “Pravo” reported online, the fire brigade brought the passengers of the train on foot across the tracks to the next station.

The Eurocity 361, which left Munich in the afternoon as Alex RE 25 with the destination Prague, was affected. Rail traffic on the section could be resumed in the course of the evening. An incident had already occurred not far from the scene of the accident at the end of June last year after heavy rain. At that time, a train crashed into a rock that had slipped off, five people were slightly injured.
