Rafael Álvarez ‘El Brujo’ returns this weekend to the Zorrilla Theater in Valladolid with a new production, ‘El alma de Valle Inclán’, a work inspired during confinement and the result of the artist’s admiration for the playwright from Pontevedra.
That “mysterious and extravagant, romantic and aesthetic” point of the Valleinclanesque soul is what “moves” ‘El Brujo’, who acknowledges that during confinement this “unique and vibrantly alive” man such as Valle Inclán “relieved” his ” melancholy” and finally “cured him of the drastic circumstances” that were lived.
«I lived with him the luminous redemption that he always confers on his characters. And I worked with the simple mystery of his stage directions in ‘Divinas Palabras'”, explains Rafael Álvarez, who adds that for him they have been “the words of those blind people who told stories pointing to the images of a curtain with a pointer”, according to reports the organization and collects Ical.
Rafael Álvarez signs and directs this 100-minute version with costumes by Gergonia E. Moustellier, costumes by Talleres Moustellier and original music by Javier Alejano.
‘El Alma de Valle Inclán’ can be seen at the Teatro Zorrilla in Valladolid on Saturday the 14th at 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday the 15th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at Entradas.Com and Teatro Zorrilla Box Office.
