The first attempt will therefore have been a masterstroke. Arrived last summer from AC Milan, Gianluigi Donnarumma will therefore have achieved the performance of winning his first individual award at the end of his first season in the capital. He was voted the league’s best goalkeeper. A performance all the more remarkable as the European champion will have been elected by his peers with only 17 games played in Ligue 1 this season.

The fault with the alternation established in the Parisian goals with the Costa Rican Keylor Navas. A situation that neither of the two porters intends to relive next season. Yet Donnarumma assured this Sunday that he would still be Parisian during the next exercise.

Did you expect to be elected?

GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA. I did not expect that, because I played very few matches. But I gave my best every time. To be elected having only played half of the matches means that I have worked well. I thank the colleagues who voted for me. They also had a great season, I really thank them. Of course, I also thank my teammates. I am really very happy.

Was it more difficult to get the best of Keylor Navas over an entire season or of the other goalkeepers with only 17 games?

It was difficult to win over half a season. It means that I did a good job. But I have the whole team with me, we have a very good group, that’s the most important thing.

Navas was elected last year, this year it’s you. Does this mean that you are the next starter in the goals of PSG?

(He laughs) Ah ah, certainly, certainly… I’m happy to be here.
