According to the public prosecutor’s office, the accused was a supporter of corona conspiracy stories and rejected government measures to contain the pandemic. According to the indictment, she assumes that the woman considered the vaccinations to be harmful or at best useless against this background.
According to a court spokesman, the defendant rejected the prosecution’s account in a statement read by the defense at the beginning of the trial. Accordingly, she admitted to having filled six syringes with too little vaccine after accidentally dropping an ampoule with the active ingredient. She only acted out of fear for her job.
She was generally critical of the corona measures, the statement said, according to the spokesman. However, she is not opposed to vaccination.
What happened in the vaccination center in Schortens had caused waves nationwide because there was a suspicion of a much larger dimension. The authorities have meanwhile warned of up to around ten thousand vaccinations that may be ineffective and organized revaccinations for those affected because the extent of the possible syringe manipulation by employees was unclear.
The number was derived from the number of vaccination appointments during the defendants’ work shifts. The police set up an investigation team with eight officers to further investigate the case. In the end, however, according to the public prosecutor’s office, only 15 illegally filled and vaccinated syringes could be proven. Dates for the process are planned until the beginning of December.
The German Red Cross nurse was responsible for preparing syringes for vaccinations in the vaccination center. She herself got the investigation rolling when she confided to a colleague that she had filled six syringes with saline after she dropped a vial of vaccine. At that time, the campaign with the newly developed vaccines was just starting. These were very tight.
The woman was released, and the following investigations then revealed indications of a possibly much larger dimension. Saline is regularly used to dilute the vaccine liquid and is harmless to the human body.
