One or more perpetrators fatally injured two men with a stabbing weapon in Hanover during the night. According to police information from early this morning, both fatalities are 45 years old. According to the police, the background is still unclear, as is whether the crimes are related. The perpetrator or perpetrators are on the run.
A previously unknown man stabbed a guest in an arcade in the Nordstadt district, a police spokeswoman said. The victim died at the scene. Another guest wanted to come to the victim’s aid and was also injured, but was able to receive outpatient care. A little later the police were called to a hotel on Hamburger Allee. There, too, a man was attacked with a stabbing weapon. He died from his injuries in hospital.
There are only a few hundred meters between the two crime scenes. Because of the local proximity and the procedure, a connection between the two crimes cannot be ruled out, said a police spokeswoman.
