In downtown Hamburg, the facade of a Chanel store was destroyed early Tuesday morning with a car and jewelry and clothing were then stolen there. The car, an Audi 80, had previously also been stolen, police said on Tuesday morning. After the burglary, the perpetrators left the car on the street.
According to the dpa news agency, the incident happened on Neuen Wall, a popular shopping street in Hamburg’s Neustadt district. A witness became aware of the vehicle shortly before 5 a.m. and alerted the police. The amount of property damage and the value of the stolen goods were initially unclear. It was also unclear in the morning whether it was one or more perpetrators. The police are investigating.
