Before the state elections in Lower Saxony, the Green Youth spoke out against a possible black-green state government. “While people fear for warm apartments in winter, the CDU only shows them social coldness,” said Felix Hötker, state spokesman for the Green Youth, on Thursday in Hanover. “What people actually need are higher wages, collective agreements and noticeable relief in order to get through the next few months,” he emphasized before the CDU federal party conference in Hanover on Friday and Saturday. The state elections in the federal state are on October 9th.
Pia Scholten, state spokeswoman for the Green Youth, criticized Lower Saxony’s Finance Minister Reinhold Hilbers: The minister was blocking a cost-effective successor solution for the 9-euro ticket, which “not least enables social participation”. Hilbers had criticized the share expected from the federal states: “For Lower Saxony that would probably be around 150 million euros in the long term,” said the CDU politician recently. “I really don’t see any leeway in the household for this.”
