In Schleswig-Holstein, the corona incidence is currently 256.7 new infections per 100,000 people within seven days. This was announced by the state registration office on Wednesday (as of 6:22 p.m.). A week ago, the incidence was lower at 228.1.
However, the value does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there has been a high number of unrecorded cases – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
1495 new corona infections were reported in the country on Wednesday, compared to 1441 a week earlier. 248 people were treated in the clinics in connection with the virus, compared to 196 people in the previous week. There were 23 corona patients in the intensive care units – eight with ventilation. A week earlier there were 25 corona patients in the intensive care units.
The hospitalization incidence was 4.14. It indicates how many patients per 100,000 inhabitants were admitted to hospitals with a corona infection within a week. A week earlier, this value was 3.4.
