A fire in a stable in Alfhausen in the Osnabrück district led to a large-scale operation by the fire brigade and police on Monday night. According to a police spokesman, the fire brigade rescued numerous chickens, geese, ponies, rabbits and guinea pigs from the burning building, but not all of them could be pulled out in time. The extinguishing work continued on Monday morning. The federal highway 68 had to be completely closed until the early hours of the morning. The police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
