I’m moving from an apartment on the outskirts of Hamburg to an apartment in the trendy district of Hamburg-Ottensen. Small shops line the streets there, with cafés and small restaurants everywhere. The clientele corresponds to that of the typical left-green, well-off city dweller with an ecological conscience and a sense of quality of life and modern mobility. The typical family here has a cargo bike, and everyone rides an e-bike to work, doing something good for the climate and their fitness. I thought.
