The police in Nuremberg have been looking for 39-year-old Alexandra R for more than a week. The officials now assume that the woman, who is eight months pregnant, has fallen victim to a crime.

According to the information, R. was seen on Friday morning (December 9) in the Katzwang district in the south of the Franconian city when she brought her two-year-old foster daughter to the daycare center. In the evening her partner reported her missing, just one day later the police took over the missing person case – unusual for adult disappeared. But even then, the investigators suspected that the woman could have had an accident or committed a crime.

These indications have now apparently condensed. “Since the items left behind at the place of residence include cash and ID as well as the mother’s passport of the heavily pregnant woman, the officials now assume that Alexandra R. did not plan to leave the center of her life or did not leave voluntarily,” said a spokesman for the police headquarters in Central Franconia week after the disappearance.

A 24-strong special commission is now investigating the case. The police are not revealing exactly what clues they have to a crime. The officials are still hoping to find the missing person alive despite a possible crime and are asking the population for help in the search.

They ask:

Alexandra R. is about 1.65 meters tall, has brown eyes and half-length, dark blonde hair with a side parting. She last wore blue jeans, a black winter jacket and a light-colored scarf and black sports shoes with white soles.

In the search for Alexandra R., the police also used sniffer dogs at the place of residence – without success. The special commission did not get any further with locating a mobile phone, nor did inquiries in hospitals in the area.

The permanent criminal service takes information about the case on the telephone number (0911) 21123333 or any other police station – also under the emergency number 110.
